If you’ve got this far I’m guessing it’s because you’d like to know more about who I am. Keep reading and I’ll tell you about my journey towards becoming a makeup and hair artist.
I began working professionally in 2004, after finishing my studies in Riga, Latvia. There, I worked in hairdressing salons full-time, some photoshoots for local magazines, and was always participating in makeup competitions. I got 4th place in Latvia’s Open Competition of Makeup Designers, 3rd place in “Les Nouvelles Esthétiques Balticum”, and 1st place at the 6th Baltic Open Competition of Makeup Designers.
After traveling around Europe, I decided to move to Barcelona, Spain in 2008, where I worked for MAC cosmetics for 3 years. During that time, I began to connect with photographers, art directors, and producers who took an interest in my creative work. Since then, I’ve been working on shoots of all kinds, from fashion to art, and commercial. I became a full-time freelance makeup and hair artist specializing in films, advertising, fashion, and special events.
I love being on set working with a team and creating unique looks that go above and beyond a director’s vision. I enjoy going to new locations, being in new environments, or traveling for work, as traveling is at the core of my creative inspiration.
I speak English, Spanish, Russian and Latvian fluently, which always comes in Handy when working with multi-national teams.
